Biography
Maria Magnusson works with video/film and photography lives and works in Gothenburg. Magnusson completed a MA in Photography, School of Photography in 1997-1999, Gothenburg University Sweden. She also completed a BA of Arts in History and Theory of Art 1991-94 Gothenburg University, Sweden. She is influenced by the photographic tradition and experiments with sound and moving images.

Hands processed in eco developer, using mint, then bleached and tinted letting the the film celluloid decay in different ways and stages.
Abstracto
The starting point for this work is the astrologer Robin Amstrong's recording, Nuclear war 1984? from 1976 and a free unused residual material from the musician James Pants, that are combined with a found footage material, from a Teaching Aid Dep-film about a school in Toronto from 1968.
Sunspots and Solar Flares
Take it apart and put together again is an experimental film about the start of the Swedish Chopper club called Sofia Hogs, founded in 1968 at Söder in Stockholm. The club was inspired by the Flower Power Movement and the film Easy Rider. The film draws from an inside personal perspective, childhood, reflections, memories and photographs from several family photo albums.
