Ivan Ivanovich Zhurov — unlucky, but very experienced detective. He travels everywhere on his old "Pobeda", one brings up a daughter, loves to drink and has very troubled amur relations with his colleague. The action takes place in Germany at the very end of the Great Patriotic War. Humanity, courage and greatness of soul are shown by soldiers in the days that have become the last for most of them.

A provincial pharmacist moves to the capital, leaving behind her husband and child. But the big city isn’t eager to grant her success and fame. Instead, it takes advantage of her kindness and sincerity — and, like many before her, it will eventually cast her aside...
