Bairi Piya is an Indian soap opera. Bairi Piya is an atypical love story painted across a canvas portraying the predicament of destitute farmers & their families. The initial episodes accentuated the stark reality that morality was a luxury many families couldn’t afford. Though the series started with the intent of highlighting the problems faced by the poor peasants of Vidarbha region of Eastern Maharashtra, that track was soon relegated to the backburner after receiving much criticism, despite revealing the true miserable conditions of poor peasants. The Women Rights Commission even pleaded for the show to be discontinued on the grounds that the practice of taking young girls to fulfil landlords' needs was not admissible for open public viewing.

Zindagi 50 50 has three stories of common people's special dreams. And to fulfill those dreams they have to struggle hard. Sometimes few get it easily, where most of them must struggle very hard with lots of sacrifice, values, principals to achieve their dreams. Among them only few get it after long struggle time where most of them have to loose everything with a failure tag.

Kuhu is a selfless, cheerful and unconventional looking girl who lives in Muniyatola, a village where people come to buy brides. Kuhu believes her unattractive looks are a blessing from God, as she will stay with her parents forever because marriage is out of question for her. But her life changes when she and her sister get married to the two brothers of a rich family that has a mysterious past.
