Biography

Natasza Cetner is an award-winning Polish Animation Director and Illustrator. She has an MA in Animation from the Royal College of Art in London and a BA from the University of Westminster. The main themes of her works are the absurdity of the world around us and the surreal, while other works and films focus on conveying the unconscious and its desires, and the anxiety of the insomniac mind. She loves to take inspiration from real-life stories and transform them into engaging short films and visuals. Her graduation film Nigel was premiered on Short of the Week and honoured with a Vimeo Staff Pick. It has been nominated for the McLaren Award at the Edinburgh International Film Festival and received awards worldwide. The latest film she directed animation-wise is The Wind Whistles and has been screened at film festivals worldwide. She is currently working as an Animation Director as a freelancer.

In time the stories were swollen by developing Christian culture and some of their dark magical aspects got lost. Visually inspired by Grimms' Fairy Tales and the illustration style of children's books. It reminds us about the dangerous and mysterious side of nature.
