A Man's Girlhood examines in comic form the conundrums of intersexuality. Depicts the memories of the author, published in 1907 as an anonymous biography under the pseudonym NOBody, but was, following the taste of the time, dramatically oversubscribed. A child born without a clear gender is raised by the father as a boy, later by the uncle as a girl and dissected after death.
A Man's Girlhood

King Nicolo through hit egoism and slackness has lost his fame and power is now deposed, completely alone and walks through his former empire, unrecognized, in constant fear of people whom are foreign to him.
König Nicolo
The plot centers on the young mistress of the castle, Cornelia van Vestrum, who feels the blood of her ancestress, a kleptomaniac Roma, running through her veins. Like her ancestor, Cornelia must also steal. She is observed by the swindler Johannes van Gudry, who tries to blackmail her... In the meantime, Gudry has discovered a waitress who is the spitting image of Cornelia, who now resides as the mistress of the castle and whom he intends to marry. Of course, things turn out differently.
