Biography
Rachel Gutgarts graduated from the Animation department at Bezalel Academy, class of 2017. Born and raised in Jerusalem, Israel, to parents who emigrated from the former USSR. Rachel has practiced silk screen print for the past two years. Now she works from a DIY screen-print workshop she built as part of the independent artist collective STRAUS, based in Jerusalem.
Known For
Between drug addiction, first discoveries of sexuality and a permanent state of war, the filmmaker searches for her lost youth by wandering the streets of Jerusalem.

Dans les rêves, quand on dort pas la nuit
A lonely walk home is intertwined with an underwater fantasy world. The relationship between reality and fantasy is portrayed in a love letter addressed to an imaginary "perfect" man. The film displays a critical, female point of view on the idea of romantic modern love in western society. Its main purpose is to dismantle the "knight in shining armor" myth.
