Biography
Chen Hong (陈红) is a Chinese actress born on December 13, 1968 in the province of Jiangxi. She is perhaps most famous for being the present wife of director Chen Kaige (陈凯歌). They have a son together. In recent years, she has co-produced Together, The Promise and Forever Enthralled and also acted in these films. She also played Diaochan in the television serial Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Known For
Adapted from the classical 14th century novel of the same title by Luo Guanzhong, Romance of the Three Kingdoms is part historical, part legend, and part mythical – romanticises and dramatises the lives of feudal lords and their retainers, who tried to replace the dwindling Han dynasty or restore it. The focus is mainly on the three power blocs that emerged from the remnants of the Han dynasty, and would eventually form the three states of Cao Wei, Shu Han, and Eastern Wu.

The Promise
The movie focuses on the battle of Cheolwon, where the 63rd Army of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army (CPVA) was ordered to enter the battlefield of Cheolwon in May 1951, just after a month-long battle, to fight against four divisions of the United Nations Army (UNA). The volunteers fought with bloodshed and finally brought the enemy to the negotiation table.
