Mister Jones, old blind painter and admirer of Van Gogh, is looked after in a rest home by Bob, a young male nurse with whom he falls in love. As their relation evolves between fantasy and reality, the small room is transforming into one of Van Gogh’s famous paintings.

During the night of September 5th, 1879, Camille Doncieux, wife of the painter Claude Monet, dies from a womb cancer. In the early hours of the following morning, the painter makes a last portrait of the one who used to be his model, before becoming his wife and the mother of his two children.

February, 1871. On the eve of the Paris Commune, Rose Beuret, Auguste Rodin's life partner, is alone in the studio. As Rodin is away, she is in charge of one of his unfinished sculptures – clay must stay moist every day. To forget her solitude, Rose takes refuge in the daily care of this mute, incomplete piece. While revolt is rumbling outside, Rose locks herself in the studio and devotes herself entirely to the statue.
