Aivars Līdaks is 12 years old and not very tall, but his dream is to play basketball at the highest level. During the summer holidays, Aivars trains relentlessly and inspires other teenagers with his determination, achieving the seemingly impossible – in a match against basketball players from a sports school, Aivars is named the best player.

The film tells the story of journalistic morality in an analytical way. In this sense, the journalist must have a clear conscience and morality. He must find the answer to the question: "What is the meaning of life and what have I been able to do for people?" The protagonist of the film, Zaur is a radio journalist. Throughout the plot, he seeks the answer to this question, but finds it difficult to find the answer, and the complex contrasts of life confuse him.

Events are happening in WW2. Jabish is a teacher at primary school. His complaining wife drives him mad about not bribing. Then she makes him to cook a soap for making the money. Also other processes are shown in the course of the war.

His cousin Rustam, a worker on a building site, fights with him against the dishonest people who sell pieces of meat from the factory. Although his wife and older son are indifferent toward him, he doesn't make a tragedy out of it; on the contrary, he tries to be understanding.
