It is the summer of 1941. An eastern-Finnish machine gun company receives an order to turn in their surplus equipment. The company is transferred to the front lines. The next morning the soldiers wake to the sound of guns – the war has begun.

Two Finnish PI:s are hunted by a gang specialized to counterfeit banknotes from Malaga to Finland and Mallorca and back. The counterfeit money printing plates are desperately searched by the gang and our heroes try to hide from them by travelling to Mallorca, where some of the local hoods try to kill them and retake the missing plates.

The unlucky layabout Isarkar Keturi brings a criminal gang to heel with the help of his assistant Mikael. He frees Irma, the daughter of mining magnate Tömstet, from captivity and a forced marriage to Kurt. Irma achieves her dream of becoming a pop star, with Isaskar's help.

The Futuro house was completed in 1968. It was believed that humanity was on the threshold of a new era, when technology would be able to solve all conceivable problems. Made entirely of plastic, Futuro was both a reflection of its time and a utopian vision of the "future state of affairs."

Justiina Puupää drives her husband Pekka and his friend Pätkä to look for work. The two decide to make money the easy way and try to have an accident after first getting accident insurance. After trying their luck, they hurt their heads and in the hospital, the comrades see each other's more outrageous antics.

It is a time of extreme housing shortage in Helsinki. People with room in their flats are required either to find subtenants or to lodge anyone sent by the housing commission. Abel and Jussi Siimes, two devoted haters of women, find themselves in this predicament. They need to find a subtenant quickly to avoid the possibility of the housing commission sending a woman, God forbid it, to live with them. Abel's acquaintance, an assessor, recommends his nephew Kaino as the perfect choice.

Elina and Pentti are celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary and have invited Elina's cousin Ann-Mari and her husband Teemu to their village. During the evening, the group begins reminiscing about the past, revealing Elina's brief romance with Martti before she got married.

Professor Derek Wytycky and his son Hans, who are immersed in the study of Indian poetry, wake up one day to find that the mother of the family is nowhere to be seen. When their housekeeper Gloria also leaves, having had enough of the absent-minded men, father and son hire private detective Mademoiselle Catherine Anaconda to investigate Mrs. Wytycky's disappearance.

Evakko is a portrayal of Soviet-Finnish winter war of 1939/40 and the associated evacuations in different parts of the country. It tells the story of a Karelian family along with their whole village who were forced to leave their homes because of the war. The film has a surprisingly perky tone for the subject matter.
