Nathalie, an 18 year old babysitter from Montréal, is looking after a little girl in the Ontarian countryside. The clerk at the local video rental store gives them a mysterious tape. When they finally come home to play it, a horrific and frightful night begins for The Babysitter.

"L'inquiétante absence" is a documentary that examines the current state of genre films in Québec. In an attempt to answer their questions, the filmmakers conducted several interviews with leading figures of Québec's genre cinema from various backgrounds, in addition to meeting with fans at festivals and conventions.

Followed by a mysterious stalker dressed in a motorcycle suit, Lisa seeks the security of her old family cabin. Unfortunately, she can’t escape her dark memories.
