Marga is a forty-two-year-old actress who seems to have already passed the peak of her career. After starting her career in theater on the country's major stages (Volksbühne Berlin, Berliner Ensemble, Maxim Gorki Theater), it is becoming increasingly difficult for her to find work. Not only in theater, but also in film, it seems to be getting harder to get roles as she gets older and as a woman, especially a woman with a migrant background.

Using excerpts from films made by students of the Berlin film academy within the last 50 years, this movie creates a fusion of intense cinematic expressions and gestures. It shows the spirit of past times, aesthetics and attitude, making film history palpable.

Julia meets Daniel, a musician who is stranded in Cuxhaven. She is immediately drawn to his talent and vulnerability and decides to make a film about him. However, the project takes an unexpected turn when Daniel begins to communicate with Julia through long video messages, expressing his desire to run away with her. At first, she is intrigued but as time goes on she becomes overwhelmed by his demands and begins to question the power dynamics of their relationship.

Polly tries to avoid a confrontation with her roommate, tiptoeing around the mess in a kitchen that proves to be much too small for more than one person. The walls are too white, her anxiety is too great, and finally she feels too claustrophobic to stay inside. In a noisy and anonymous city, Polly let’s herself be carried by a train that moves in circles, without a particular goal, daydreaming away while the world rushes by her.
