Galimžjan, an old man living an ascetic life by the sea, confronts his past as his son is accused of assaulting a man in the city. Galimžjan has lost his faith in a mythical fish called Baigal that is said to live in the nearby Volga river. But Baigal, who can bestow luck on those who reach it, might be just what he needs.

Fate brought two people together: little Bulat, a disabled man and an orphan, who must go to America, where he is waiting for an operation, a possible recovery and an American family, and Karim, who lost his wife and son in the disaster and served 6 years in prison.

Tatarstan, Russia, a small Tatar village. An old woman, Bibinur Juhangir, sees a dream telling that she is going to die next Friday. She has to use the time rest to give all of her debts and to prepare for the departure. Suddenly criminal businessmen and land owners appear in the village. They are intending to sell the land, where now the old cemetery is. One of them, Jihangir, who is used to glamorous life of big cities having lived the most part of his life abroad, has now for the first time in his life arrived on Tartar land. The young man stays in Bibinur's house for the night, and she tells him about her life. She's ready to confront his companion and refuses to sell the land.

A story about the Islamov family, who were united by a tragedy. Relatives met on holidays, anniversaries, said good words to a friend, made promises and each returned to his life.
