Behind Mansion Walls is an American documentary television series on Investigation Discovery that debuted June 6, 2011. The series, hosted by Christopher Mason, tells the stories of crime and investigation that are unveiled in wealthy families and relationships, with conspiracies, hidden accounts, false identities and secret affairs. It tells stories of murder and mystery on a grand scale. The victims and individuals involved in cases come from upscale levels of society, from oil tycoons to real estate moguls.

Dark Minds brings together the sharp criminal minds of author and investigative journalist M. William Phelps and pre-eminent criminal profiler John Kelly to reopen unsolved homicides thought to be the work of serial killers. They are assisted in their efforts by a source known only to viewers as "13," a convict serving multiple life terms for a series of murders, who presents his theories about potential motivations behind these chilling cold cases based on his own experiences. They bring fresh eyes to unsolved serial killer investigations using the combined instincts of three unique perspectives, with hopes that it will encourage viewers to bring forward new leads.

The 45-minute performance moved through three phases. An opening of contained, whispered self-consciousness as students navigated the after-dark building. A middle section in which genuine exchanges and unplanned moments surfaced. A final integration in which the edit, score, cue delivery, and student presence arrived at something unrehearsed and unrepeatable.
