Biography
Yumeng Han is a writer-director and producer based in New York. Relocating to New York, he uses cinema to explore deep and meaningful connection between individuals in morden society. As writer/director, Yumeng’s short film Crossing River was selected in Pardi Di Domani of the 70th Locarno Festival, the short film competition of the 61st San Francisco International Film Festival, and acquired distribution through Kinoscope. As a producer, he has worked many award-winning shorts that have screened at 50+ festivals throughout the world including BFI London FIlm Festival, Rhode Island International Film Festival, Outfest, Austin Film Festival, Show Me Shorts New Zealand and many more. They have been awarded Best Student Short at Cinequest Film Festival, a Special Mention at Durban International Film Festival, a finalist for HBO APA Visionaries, and been supported by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the Sundance Institute, The National Film Board of Canada and the Spike Lee Production Award. He is an alumni of the Graduate Film Program of New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
