Animated short film based on the Andersen tale. A king envies his son for the carefree way he spends his days and wants to find him a wife. She must not only be beautiful, but also particularly sensitive, which she must prove with the pea test in bed. The first, a hard-working peasant girl, is sent home immediately, the second leaves of her own accord because she finds the prince too boring, the third passes the test and marries the prince. Now he becomes king, and the old man retires to feed swans from now on.

The devil's grandmother sends her grandson to visit the Punch and Judy family. The devil hypocritically promises to behave in an exemplary manner, but does the opposite. He secretly eats the pudding, smashes the bowl, lies through his teeth and flees when he is caught by the policeman. Punch and the policeman pursue him and catch him with great difficulty. The adventure ends with a clear defeat for the devil and the devil's grandmother's anger at her clumsy grandson, who has once again been caught out.

During a football match, three mice kick a few stones that hit a sleeping lion on the head. Then the ball lands in front of him and a mouse rolls after it. The little mouse, trembling, asks the lion for his ball and gets away scot-free. A little later, the mice hear a loud roar from the nearby forest. They run after the noise and discover the lion in a trap. Together they free him with a trick and ride off on his back.

On the night before the trip to the winter holiday, a boy dreams of the adventures he will experience in the mountains. Of course, he wants to try his new skis on a steep descent. He disdains the hill for beginners on which his sister practices. During his daring ride from the highest mountain, the boy gets into the rails of the railway and bumps into the end of the train. But since this happens in his dream, he manages, with the help of his sister, to pull the compressed train apart again like a harmonica. Both children get on the train and go home.

The king is very displeased by this; what annoys him most is the farmhand Hans, who appears at the well every day, whistling a cheerful tune. The princess likes the tune and asks Hans to teach it to her. This drives the king’s anger to a fever pitch.
