Biography
Nguyen (pronounced 'Win') Stanton is a Vietnamese-American actress and model living in Austin, Texas. She was born Xuan-Nguyen Huynh in Vietnam. She was a Vietnam War refugee, arriving in Topeka, Kansas, in 1975. She graduated from DeBakey High School for Health Professions in 1987. Four years later, she graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in English Literature and Composition and with certification in Secondary School Education. In 2000, she moved to San Francisco, California, where she began her career in nonprofit management and in media consulting. In 2006, she returned to Austin, Texas, where she began her acting career. She started out in theatre in 2008 with her home troupe The Baron's Men, dedicated to historically accurate presentation of Shakespearean and Elizabethan plays. She has also performed in numerous productions at The Way Off Broadway Community Players in Leander, Texas, and at other theaters in and around Austin. In 2009, she began acting in films and has played many different roles (including ninja, invalid, sex worker, mom, murder victim, detective, nurse, surgeon) in a variety of genres (including martial arts, science fiction, thriller, drama, comedy). She also does runway modeling, showcasing the work of local designers.
