Lia, a nothing scary little monster that inhabits the room under the bed of the girl Ana, leaves her hiding place at night while the child sleeps. Recently widowed from a fisherman, Cilene faces both grief and the struggle to survive. She turns to José, the son of a neighbor, who helps her keep the fishing alive. Guided by the ebb and flow of the tide, Cilene and José find a bond in the depths of their emptiness.

The film takes place in a small town, where the mayor decrees that almost every day is Sunday, which becomes a problem to some of it's citizens, who need city hall bureaucracy, being unable to fulfill their demands.
