"The Written Off" is a famous Serbian TV miniseries, that was very popular in former Yugoslavia, originally airing in 1974. Due to its popularity, Radio Television of Serbia has shown reruns of the series ten times, the last re-run starting in 2012. The series has achieved something of a cult status among its audience and still attracts an estimated 3 million viewers with its last rerun. Idea of series derives from exploits of freedom fighters in Belgrade during World War II, and all the characters and events are fictitious.

A seven-part miniseries that tells the story of the great writer Jack London and his adventure following the 1897 expedition to the Klondike. Filmed on location in the former Yugoslavia with a documentary style, this series contains all the narrative ingredients of the famous author of White Fang and The Call of the Wild: the frenzied gold rush, the snowy and inhospitable landscapes of many of his pages, and his visceral relationship with wolf dogs, protagonists of many stories.

Based on the famous novel of Milos Crnjanski, the story follows Serbian migrations from the Austro-Hungarian Empire during the XVIII century.

After his uncle returned from the WW2 on a white horse, the boy Danko immediately falls for the animal and they become inseparable. Danko rides it on his way to school, gallops by the river… Yet this causes envy of Danko’s friends, but also of hungry locals who only see the horse as a food source.
