A paraphrase of the classic fairy tale The Gingerbread House, created in 1983 based on one of Josef Lada's Naughty Fairy Tales. And because it is an "inside out" fairy tale, it is not the children who get lost in the forest, but the magical gingerbread man and woman. They see the cottage from a tree, and when they start feeding on the shingles, they fall into a goat pen. To escape their captivity, the cottage is miraculously transformed into a gingerbread house. But mom and dad soon start eating too much gingerbread.
JUDr. Kroupa will take over as President of the Civil Court from his colleague who is retiring. His job description is mostly to judge married couples who are divorcing and arguing over alimony, with the very least concern for the welfare of their children. Gabriela Preissová wrote her two most famous dramas, Gazdina roba and Její pastorkyňa, when she was not yet thirty. Both were set to music and became famous. The first opera, entitled Eva, was written by J. B. Foerster, and the second by Leoš Janáček. The fame of Janáček's work greatly overshadowed the original. On the other hand, "Gazdina roba," the author's debut work, is still performed on Czech stages, regardless of the era. That is how powerful and impressive this drama is. The production by director Zdeněk Kaloč premiered at the Vinohrady Theater in May 1992. Dagmar Veškrnová endowed the title role of Eva the seamstress with warmth, temperament, pride, and tragic shadows.
