The Turguts are a modern, tech-savvy family: Emma, her husband Amir and their son Malik live in a state-of-the-art smart home. Emma relies on smart technologies not only in the house, but also in her work as a psychotherapist. In order to be able to help more and more people, she is helping to develop an AI-based therapy app. However, as the first practical phase begins, initially minor but soon serious incidents occur with the networked and omnipresent technology.

The middle of the 21st century. A dystopian drama in an overaged and run-down Germany. When the so-called "Endjährigkeit" - compulsory euthanasia at the age of 80 - is introduced, a father and a son are forced to put their broken relationship to a final test.

The summer of 376 AD. The Gothic female warrior Elja is forced to give in to the marauding Huns and to seek shelter for herself and her clan in the Roman empire. Once at the border they must wait for orders and provisions from the Roman authorities. Elja tries to understand the Roman plans in spite of the language barrier.

The big day has come. Grandpa Herbert Maibach has become obsolete. Spending the last years in a coma, he didn’t exactly cover himself in glory. The family gathers to say their goodbyes. Easier said than done…
