At Sasaki Midori's concert, Takahashi Rin is suddenly proposed to by Chinese painter Zhao Buliang. Henceforth, everything becomes different.

A man is released from prison and saved by his roommates after a suicide attempt. When he visits a bar and sees a Russian woman performing the classic song "Blue Train," he is inspired to go off in search of his ex-girlfriend.

Zhang Yinglong, who had been working alone in Beijing, returned to his hometown to visit relatives and learned that due to logging and coal mining, the environment in his hometown had deteriorated from once being a place of abundant water and grass to now being covered in yellow sand. Despite the opposition of his relatives, he resigned from his job as a deputy general manager and sold his house to return to his hometown to fight the desert. After experiencing difficulties and perseverance, he has now become a "national model worker" with green trees lining the streets.

Thirty-year-old college lecturer Shu Qiao is about to marry her long-term boyfriend and fiancé, successful banker Hu. The future has been written for her. However, during a visiting scholar programme to Europe, Shu encounters theatre director Fan in Prague, with whom she falls hopelessly in love.

In the south of Yunnan, there are mountains, rivers, ancient trees, and tea gardens. The simple beliefs of the local Bulang people are the basis for maintaining their homeland and the manifestation of their strength. A film based on the spiritual connotation of the Bulang people's reverence and protection of nature in the Bulang mountain village of Xishuangbanna, Yunnan.

Buliang Zhao is a Chinese man living with his Japanese partner Rin Takahashi, an office worker. He works at a warehouse that sponsors his visa while he pursues his passion for art in the face of family demands for him to return home while Rin patiently weathers overbearing colleagues and her own family’s expectations over her settling down. Through these two characters, on the verge of parting due to the demands of others, the film explores the limits of personal freedom and desire. (Text by Jason Maher)
