Gilles Blanchard

Pierre's the photographer, Gilles is the painter. This video follows the pair of French artists for one year as they team to concoct their patented bizarre and beautiful imaginary world in pictures, often conflating gay, Hollywood, and religious iconography. They've attracted as models such international celebrities and stars as Michael Jackson, Nina Hagen, Madonna, Boy George, Mark Almond, Catherine Deneuve, Rupert Everett, Jean-Paul Gaultier, and Prince. Some critics dismiss their work as simply kitsch, while some of the world's top art galleries have held shows celebrating the duo's work.

Rome, Paris, Marrakesh, Saint-Brieuc and New York, familiar decors of hotel rooms and prison cells... inmates, travesties, illegal immigrants relate their intimate relations with the writer and show how his words continue to echo. This film commemorates the centenary, in December 2010, of the birth of this genius of 20th century French literature.

Following Pierre and Gilles' the work process, from design and the choice of model, the shooting by Pierre and the painting of the photo by Gilles finishing with the hanging of the exhibition at a museum of contemporary art in Seoul. Through this documentary we discover the universe of the two plastic artists known worldwide for their very specific world.

Simon Agnel, a young idealist, returns home after traveling the world in vain with the knowledge of the limitless power he holds within. Other than Béatrice Dalle, Tête d’or utilized a cast of unprofessional former prisoners.
