Biography

Sami Sykkö (born April 17, 1970 in Helsinki) is a Finnish journalist, presenter, and writer specializing in fashion, style, culture, design, and figure skating. He has worked as editor-in-chief of Gloria magazine and as a journalist for Helsingin Sanomat and Nelonen News. Since August 2019, Sami Sykkö has been the business director and editor-in-chief of Fashion Finland, a fashion trade association. Sykkö has been selected as a professor of working life at LUT University from the beginning of September 2022. He will work part-time until the end of 2025.

Tanssii tähtien kanssa is a Finnish version of the British BBC television series Strictly Come Dancing. The show has run on MTV3 since March 3, 2006, on Sunday evenings. The show was originally hosted by Marco Bjurström and Ella Kanninen. Ella Kanninen left the show after the second season and was replaced by model and Season 2 contestant Vanessa Kurri. In 2009, Kurri was replaced by Vappu Pimiä after only one season. Marco Bjurstöm left the series after Season 4 and Mikko Leppilampi took over as host. Ella Kanninen returned to host the seventh season due to Pimiä's maternity leave; Pimiä returned to host the eighth season with Leppilampi. From 2022 Pimiä was joined by Ernest Lawson. The series' title is a pun on the title of the film Dances with Wolves, Tanssii susien kanssa.

Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu (abbreviated UMK) is an annual music contest organised by the Finnish public broadcaster Yle. UMK began in 2012 as a new concept for the Finnish selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, replacing the original Finnish Eurovision Song Contest qualifying event (Suomen euroviisukarsinta) which had been held since 1961.

Hengaillaan is a Saturday night entertainment programme that combines quizzes, live music and taste tourism. Hosted by Jenni Poikelus and judged by Riku Rantala. Celebrity contestants will be taken on a journey to destinations in Finland, Europe and the world to test their knowledge in a series of changing questions. The topics include everything from contemporary entertainment to history, music, sport and geography. Master chef Kozeen Shiwan will put the teams' taste buds to the test with food questions inspired by the destinations. An intermittent live band will bring its own rhythm to the tracks.
