Hu Bo

In the northern Chinese city of Manzhouli, they say there is an elephant that simply sits and ignores the world. Manzhouli becomes an obsession for the protagonists of this film, a longed-for escape from the downward spiral in which they find themselves.

A story about two young demons who are always slacking off at work, a place that happens to be an organization that vows to keep the balance between the worlds of the living and dead by killing humans!

This early work of Hu Bo (director of An Elephant Sitting Still (2018)) was his graduation work at Beijing Film Academy. It features the self-redemption of a lumbago sufferer, which is a metaphor.
