The first summarizing film about the path of the class and the common stations in life. But also about the different paths in the profession, in love, marriage and family. As well as a soldier. A group chronicle, viewed from the historical distance of the 35th year of the end of the 2nd World War and after 18 years of shooting in peace, which ensured everyone the first human right: they were allowed to live.

Oliver is in the 4th grade. He hasn't been paying attention in magic class and gets a big, fat five on a test. He has to have the work signed by his parents, but he is ashamed and doesn't want to cause his parents any grief. So he tries to get rid of the five with magic or at least turn it into a three. He manages to create talking guinea pigs and singing geese, but the five remains. The other children are already angry with him because he has no time to play with all the magic exercises. And so he decides to confess his mishap to his parents. His mother shows him how he can turn the five into a better grade - and that has to do with learning.

A sequence of nine individual biographical sketches with a prologue and epilogue on Golzow and the long-term observation. Deepening of the preceding chronicle. The Golzow people in the present, from which retrospective views of the previous life and the life conflicts of the individual are given.

Film about the training and plowing championships of the socialist countries in Hungary. The title alludes to the popular record "Lyrik, Jazz & Prosa", which was later discontinued and on which Manfred Krug reads the Soschtschenko satire "Die Kuh im Propeller", which makes fun of "Flugwesen" in the Soviet Union as a sign of modernization in the countryside too.

Löffler, a young teacher, strives to deal with his 6th form pupils as partners and in an anti-authorian manner. The film discovers a person who - without the least fear of making mistakes - distrusts the prevalent way.

In his daydreams, 15-year old Otto is a real hero who masters dangerous situations by the dozen. But in reality, the rather imaginative ninth grader has trouble moving up to the next grade. Fortunately, his teacher Nickel notices that Otto does not lack intelligence, but the ability to use his imagination for the requirements of everyday school life. Together with school director Menschke, Nickel tries to change Otto’s attitude. Although this is easier said than done, Otto eventually realizes that he has to try to build his cloud-castles only after school has ended. And his teacher is going to support him in his attempts.

Around the festival week for the 675th anniversary of Golzow for GDR television a portrait of the village, its landscape and agriculture in the past and present. In sketches also the parents' generation and the current state of affairs in the lives of some of our "children of Golzow".

The first cinematic review after the fall of the Wall and the end of the GDR. In the context of a reunion of the "children of Golzow" on the 1st anniversary of German unity and their joint trip to Hamburg also a workshop report documenting the thirty-year history of the Golzow Chronicle from the new German situation as well as the thoughts and feelings, hopes, fears and objective changes in the lives of now already 13 portrayed.
