Salut les Terriens! is a French talk show hosted by Thierry Ardisson, launched on Canal+ on November 4, 2006, and then moved to C8 on September 10, 2016. The show subsequently changed its name and format in 2018 to become Les Terriens du Samedi! (The Earthlings of Saturday!). Initially conceived as a humorous take on current events with several guests and various games and segments, it later evolved into a more structured format with panel discussions and regular segments. In 2018, Thierry Ardisson sought to revamp the concept, believing the previous version had run its course, hence the transition to Les Terriens du samedi! with a new set and new segments, and a 360-degree turn in the ideology of the guests.

Tout le monde en parle is a French talk show broadcast on France 2 from September 5, 1998 to July 8, 2006. It was hosted by Thierry Ardisson and produced by Catherine Barma. During its first season, the show took the form of societal debates; it was in September 1999 that it was re-formatted into a talk-show. The show features guests who are making news at the moment, including actors, writers, singers, politicians and athletes. Guests discuss their life and engage in thematic interviews. The show gradually acquired a provocative reputation, notably since the host does not hesitate to ask political guests questions about their private and sexual lives. With Thierry Ardisson as the main host, he was first accompanied by Laurent Ruquier and Linda Hardy. Later, he turned to duos Éric and Ramzy, then Kad and Olivier. Finally, he opted for comedian Lauren Baffie as co-host, until the end of the show.

Beate Klarsfeld, born in Berlin in 1939 as Beate KĂĽnzel, is primarily known to people as "the woman with the slap" and as the Nazi hunter. In 1960 she went to Paris and met her future husband Serge Klarsfeld, whose father was deported to Auschwitz and murdered there. She was confronted with the darkest part of German history, about which she had learned nothing at school. Serge gave her books to read and made her actively deal with them. Since then, she has not let go of dealing with the crimes of the Nazi era. For them, it was always about "responsibility, not guilt".
