Anthropologist, photographer and filmmaker. Her thesis “Artemio”, a documentary of the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica (CCC), had it’s national premiere in the festival AMBULANTE 2017, and international premiere in Sheffield DOC/FEST 2017 in England where it won the New Talent Award 2017.

Lizbeth, a transsexual woman in charge of the funerary rituals in the small town of San Nicolas, has a gift that allows her to accompany the souls of the deceased with songs, prayers and music, in their journey towards the unknown. She embraces this skill with care, and it has made her a loved and respected figure in her community, where her intimate life is spent in solitude and silence.

Artemio was born in U.S.A. Now he lives in a small town in Guerrero with his mother and his new family. Despite his roots in Mexico, he still doesn’t feel like a part of it. Together, they will show us a reality where the distance from those they left behind will come to life in every phone call.
