Biography
Eugene Kolb is a filmmaker based in Brooklyn, New York. Born in Ukraine, Eugene immigrated to the U.S. in the late 1990s. He learned English by frequenting his local DVD rental store and watching countless subtitled movies with his family. He attributes those movies to his early success in winning the 6th-grade spelling bee, still one of the crowning A-C-H-I-E-V-E-M-E-N-T-S of his life. Eugene's short films have screened at dozens of film festivals including the Tribeca Film Festival, AFI Fest, Rooftop Films, OIAF, and Palm Springs Shortsfest; have been featured on Short of the Week, CartoonBrew, and Film Shortage; and have received Vimeo Staff Picks. Commercially, Eugene works as a director, editor, and animator. His past clients include Netflix, Paramount+, Facebook, Adidas, and The Gates Foundation.
