The story revolves around the love between a high-society fashion designer and a young man from the countryside. Fashion designer Mine is engaged to her wealthy boss, Burhan. During a visit to her uncle's farm, they meet Ali. Mine, captivated by Ali's voice, decides to take him to Istanbul and educate him. Burhan, however, plans to send Ali back to his village. But things do not go as Burhan had planned.

The people are divided into two groups: supporters of the Sultan and supporters of Mustafa Kemal. In addition to those who have crossed over to Anatolia, there are also many secret supporters of the National Forces in Istanbul. Müjgan is the daughter of Süleyman Sırrı Pasha. Talip is one of the volunteers of the Kuva-yi Milliye movement in Istanbul. Talip befriends Müjgan in order to access information through her father. However, Müjgan realizes Talip's true identity and intentions. Upon this realization, Müjgan voluntarily helps Talip. However, this help leads to the beginning of a love affair between the two.

They encounter fighting trees, a river, and a country of China dolls on their way to the Wizard, a ball of fire who sends them after the Wicked Witch who enslaves them. When the Wizard is unable to help Aysecik get home, they must journey again for help, encountering the China Country once more, and a legion of hammer-throwing cavemen.

When Handan was a child, her father adopted an orphan named Cevat. However, her father died in an accident shortly thereafter. Orhan, Handan's older brother, who could never accept Cevat, saw this situation as an opportunity. He put Cevat to work as a laborer on his farm. He also sent Handan abroad to study for a while.
