Respected and very wealthy Atlanta, GA-area realtor Bobby Wilson has a wife, son and daughter, but does some things unknown to them. He has a cabin on a rural tract 200 miles to the north, to where he often flies his airplane carrying abducted, minimally-attached females, who he there releases as game and fatally hunts. A girlfriend of a victim convinces a cop to help close in on Bobby.

Josh visits Thomas and occupies his home. Josh assumes Thomas' identity and usurps Thomas' acquaintances descending into a total hell only the most hapless can create- finding that one cannot "float" through life on "hot air" alone.

In the near future, in a remote corner of Scotland, a couple scratch a living from the barren land around their isolated hill farm. Memories of a war that has left the world broken haunt them as they try to lead a normal life. But a remarkable stranger arrives at their lonely outpost and their lives begin to take a shape they couldn't possibly have imagined.
