SOKO 5113 is a long-running German police procedural television series. It was first aired in 1978 on 2 January. SOKO is an abbreviation of the term "Sonderkommission" in German.

After the fall of the Berlin Wall, a communist family discovers a bunker full of money soon to be worthless. With the help of their neighbors, they embark on a race against time to enter the capitalist world in style.

11-year-old Michi lives in a children's home, every day fighting to win the respect of the other kids, till the day he finds his real dad, Tom - who happens to be a dwarf, even shorter than Michi is, the opposite of his idea of manliness and strength. When the kids find out, Michi's life becomes hell and he flees. With nowhere to go, he moves in with Tom, who is new to this fatherhood thing, while Michi tried to hide his embarrassment and shame from his fellow school kids. This forces Tom, who had coped well till now, to confront his handicap head on. As time passes, they discover they have more in common than other sons and fathers, until their relationship is again suddenly put to the hard test...

Siblings Mareike, Dietrich and Felicitas Reber can hardly believe their eyes when, after an absence of 50 years, their father Xaver, who was thought to have disappeared in Argentina, suddenly turns up on their doorstep - penniless, without a pension or health insurance and with nothing but his toothbrush in his luggage. Attempts to drop him off at the social welfare office, in a retirement home or at a highway service station fail - and so, one by one, the hard-hitting Xaver wanders through all the apartments, causing quite a stir in the families, partnerships and work of his children. It turns out that the three siblings are also in a bit of a mess, and it doesn't take long for them to realize that their freewheeling father isn't their biggest problem...

Charly was a clown before he lost his talent for making people laugh. When Charly loses his last engagement, he decides to take his own life. He jumps off a bridge under which Karla, a notorious merrymaker, is disposing of her latest victim. His suicide attempt fails, so Charly blackmails Karla: either she kills him or he betrays her to the police. Karla is a lust murderer, she only kills who she loves - and Karla simply can't feel anything for the world-weary clown. When all attempts to kill her fail miserably, Charly has a plan: laughter is the best aphrodisiac. Charly wants to make Karla laugh, make her fall madly in love with him and then finally be able to kill him.
