The film shows the passing of a day in the life of a young woman. In the beginning, she is alone in her apartment. It seems that she is going through a separation from her beloved person (a female). She is trying to cope with this loss by reading (a book by Renée Vivien and a poem by Goethe), moving around things in the apartment, thinking about the lost person. As the day ends and night falls, a nightmare-like vision haunts her - and a new path of hope opens up. This is the primary story of the film, told in a particular way, by means of storyboard and off-narration, inspired by the works of Marina Abramovic, Chantal Akerman, Guy Gilles and Chris Marker.

An omnibus film comprised of four short films with interconnected themes and overlapping characters. 'Diablo in Madrid' is inspired by the Pasolini short film La Terra vista dalla Luna (1967). 'Uber Menschen' finds a professor visiting Madrid and contemplating killing himself when an Uber driver talks him out of it. 'Purple Army Fiction' is a reworking of certain ideas developed in LaBruce’s feature film The Raspberry Reich (2004). 'Fleapit' is an homage to films that depict people having sex in movie theatres, from Lamberto Bava’s Demons (1985) to Frank Perry’s Last Summer (1969), and beyond.

At the end of June in Paris: Mireille accompanies his friend Thomas, a solitary and restless being, during a walk to Père Lachaise. Thomas is very agitated, worried. He confides to Mireille that he wishes to be cremated in the event of death. In September: after a period of holidays, Mireille returns at her home. She and his friends do not any more manage to contact Thomas. After investigation, Mireille learns that Thomas died in August, only. As he has no family his body was interred in the square of the needy of the new cemetery of Thiais. Mireille wants to honor the last wills of his friend, but the law is strict: to dig up the body and cremate it, the services of the city hall have to have the signature of a member of Thomas's family. Mireille learns that Thomas had a younger brother, Melchior. But But the young man, marginalized, abandoned for years by his older brother, refuses to sign the licence to dig up.
