Páll Óskar Hjálmtýsson is an Icelandic pop-star, best known internationally for his 1997 Eurovision entry and performance. In Iceland he is also known as a prominent gay rights activist and one of the first out and proud pop-star.

Set on a remote farm on the west coast of Iceland in late summer 1936. Hrefna, encouraged by her grandmother’s stories, begins to mix past and future in her imagination, travelling back to the 14th century.
