Biography
Her professional name was taken from a character in James Joyce's novel Finnegan's Wake. That character's name, Anna Livia Plurabelle, was changed slightly to Anna Livia Plurabella for the movies. Discovered by director Carter Stevens when she answered his advertisement in the Columbia Spectator (Columbia University's school newspaper). At the time, she was going for a doctorate in comparative literature.
