The miniseries tells the eight double murders committed from 1968 to 1985, in the Florentine countryside, where young couples who were massacred appartavano in their cars looking for intimacy. It particularly emphasizes the personal battle of Renzo Rontini, father of Pia killed with her boyfriend Claudio Stefanacci in Vicchio, in Mugello (29 July 1984), in the search for the culprit of the death of his daughter.

Sadie—a young female novelist—and an enigmatic woman named Francesca, are enticed by an ex-lover to join him at his Italian villa for a weekend celebration being held to honor the release of Sadie's latest book. Once there, Sadie begins to fear his true intentions as she and Francesca become embroiled in a dangerous game of moral and sexual discovery.

Paolo, a forty-year-old single man, spends his time between his flat and the museum of fake fruits, where he works as a guard. He lives in a suspended bubble, unaware of his unhappiness and inability to react. An accidental meeting will shift, maybe definitely, his inner world.
