Set in the aftermath of the 1915 Armenian Genocide, a grief-stricken survivor arrives in a desolate Soviet Armenian village after losing his entire family. Burdened by trauma, he must navigate a bleak existence and find the will to heal, plant roots, and rebuild his life.
Two years after receiving news of his father’s death in WWII a young boy continues to wait for trains from the front. The boy lives with his crippled uncle rather than with his mother, who has remarried and has another child. Then one day the father returns.
The film is set in Baku at the beginning of the 20th century. After his death, the wealthy oil magnate Marcos Alimyan bequeathed his entire fortune to his eldest son, Smbat. Influenced by money, Smbat becomes involved in business, forgetting all his lofty aspirations. His younger son, a spendthrift and a reveler, is reformed by the influence of noble love.
