And now, forty years later, the granddaughter of this horse - the magnificent race mare Secunda - is being sold for pennies at an international auction to a certain Baron von Ritter. Ermakov guesses about the true owner of the “lost” document and, in the end, returns it to himself.
The film is based on Yuri Tomin’s story “Everything’s the Other Way Around Today” and tells the tale of children who decide to stage a “Disobedience Day.” Galka, Yurka, and Slavik make a pact to listen to no one and do only what they want. Their bewildered parents and teacher are slow to understand what’s come over the kids, but eventually manage to persuade them to abandon their impulsive idea.

Fritz Schmenkel, a farm worker and soldier in the fascist Wehrmacht, deserts in Belarus in 1941. He wants to survive, makes his way to Russian farmers and comes into contact with Soviet partisans who, after long interrogations by the German teacher and current partisan Miron, take him in as one of their own. Schmenkel proves his reliability in a number of daring actions and is awarded the Order of the Red Banner. In the winter of 1943/44, he is given a reconnaissance mission and falls into the hands of the fascists in Minsk. After days of interrogation, which he withstands, the Nazis execute him.
