Murat (Ilhan Kuyululu), an older Turkish migrant in Australia, works hard to achieve his dream of buying a truck, and of returning a rich man to Turkey to marry the woman he loves. He uses his savings to visit Turkey to celebrate his sister's wedding. Running in parallel is another story, featuring the younger Ayhan (Sait Memisoglu), who in contrast has an affair with an Australian girl Sarah (Kate Sheil).

The famous Swedish Karoliner army has suffered its biggest defeat ever at Poltava in 1709. The Swedish king Karl XII is waiting in the small village of Bender for the Turkish sulton to help him defeat his arch enemy, the czar of Russia, Peter the Great. But the Turks think he's an expensive guest and want him out of Turkey. However, he refuses. The sultan then decides to send Karl XII a princess to marry him, to get him out of the country (a bride for a bribe). The two Swedish soldiers Lagercrona and Kruus are to escort the princess. They experience many different adventures on their way to Bender, namely because other Swedish soldiers and agents try to stop them from ever reaching the village, because they don't want Karl XII to leave Turkey. After their long adventure to get there and a few misunderstandings, the famous "kalabalik" of Bender, where the Turks decide to drive Karl XII out of Turkey by force, begins.

Şahin, who works in a factory, lives with his daughter and father. A friend of his dies in an accident at the factory. She hides on Ferit's boat as he sets sail for Istanbul. Ferit, who finds Tülin hiding, mistakes her for a thief. He treats her harshly throughout the journey and makes her do the work on the boat. When they arrive in Istanbul, Ferit learns that his relatives plan to hire a married couple as servants for the mansion. He asks Tülin to help him. Tülin and Ferit, pretending to be married, will try to find the will.
