"Will You Still Be My Friend" is adapted from the short film "When Henge Meets Crescent." The story primarily focuses on the delicate and sincere emotions between two teenagers amidst the conflict between a fishing village's land and solar energy development. The work continues the director's concern for his hometown and youth themes, depicting the contradictions of growth and the trials of friendship through a realistic approach.
Will You Still Be My Friend

In the village, the boy offers help but is turned down by everyone. Later his friend asks him to help on their fish farm and take the motor to the neighbouring village afterwards. But he loses the key and is determined to find it although the tide is coming in.

In the fall of 2022, in the midnight rain at the February 28th Peace Park, 'I' met a strange man who told me that he often came to play at midnight, and in the fall of 1954, in the midnight rain at the New Park in Taipei, Huang met a strange man who told him that he often came to play at midnight lately. These two intertwined periods of time and space reveal the encounters and emotional connections between gay men in Taiwan at different times.
