Vinnie Ann Bose, born in Kerala (India), trained in animated film at NID Ahmedabad. In 2016, she enrolled at La Poudrière film school (France). Following the success of her graduation films What is your Brown Number? and Dimanche matin, she directed her first professional short film, Sulaimani.

The film talks about how in India everyone wants to be light skinned, and how there is a sense of idealism and beauty associated with fair skin, whereas it is negativity and repulsion that is associated with dark skin.

One evening, Alia and Neena, two young Indian women, dine at Sulaimani, an Indian restaurant in Paris. The meal stirs up buried emotions and "unleashes" certain memories that slowly reveal why they left their country.
