Biography
Mario Addis, born in Tempio Pausania, Sardinia, started working in 1984 as an animator in Michel Fuzellier and Giovanni Ferrari’s studio. In 1989, he founded the production studio Gertie together with Franco Serra and started working as a producer and director. He directed several commercials, TV theme songs and video clips (he devised the opening credits of ‘Mostro’ by Roberto Benigni and the first video clip of ‘Voglia Di Gridare’ by Daniele Silvestri, an Italian singer). In 1999, Oreste Del Buono, director of Linus magazine, published his series on the vampire ‘Alef’, which ran for more than a year. As an animator, he works with talented directors, such as Maurizio Nichetti, Dario Fo, Giulio Cingoli, Enzo D’Alò and Roberto Benigni. With his animated works, he takes part in foreign productions, such as ‘The Fever’ by HBO, a film directed by Gabriel Carlo Nero, starring Vanessa Redgrave and Angelina Jolie. He was in charge of the technical direction and supervision of the storyboard and backgrounds, the Lay-Outs and animation, and the colouring and compositing of the 26 episodes of the series ‘Adrian’, by Adriano Celentano, produced by Clan and Mediaset. In 2015, he was awarded an Honorary Degree from the Scuola Nazionale di Cinema. His latest works, which he created and directed, were ‘Robin Hood, raccontato da Veronica Pivetti’ (Robin Hood told by Veronica Pivetti), a one-hour TV movie, co-produced by Rai and Progetto Immagine, and ‘Pene e Cruditè’ (Pain and Crudités), a self-produced, three-minute short film.

A vicious serial sex killer is on the loose, and landscape gardener and shop-window outfitter Loris is the prime suspect, thanks to his unfortunate habit of getting caught in compromising situations (for which there is always a totally innocent explanation that the police fail to spot). Undercover policewoman Jessica is assigned by eccentric police psychologist Taccone to follow Loris.
The Monster
A seagull is caught by the black tide of a sinking petrol ship. She manages to fly inland and falls down in a garden by a cat. Moribund, she asks the cat to fulfill three promises: that when she lays her egg he must not eat it; that he must take care of it until it hatches; that he would teach the newborn how to fly.
Lucky and Zorba
Momo is a young orphan girl who lives in the ruins of an old Roman amphitheater and becomes friends with everybody in the neighborhood. But when a powerful international corporation starts stealing everybody’s time, nobody has any time left for her, let alone their friends or families. Momo, together with Master Hora, the custodian of time, are the only ones who can go up against the time thieves before all is lost forever.

The Hero of Two Worlds
Inside Bar Sport, a bar on the outskirts of Bologna managed by the histrionic Onassis, the adventures of regulars and casual patrons unfold. Searching for a pinball machine or a payphone, they encounter the omnipresent "technician," so called for his passion for soccer and always ready to chat or moderate other people's discussions. Thus, the ordeals of the handyman Bovinelli as he deals with the disasters at Muzzi's house, the diary of a provincial playboy's conquests, the sex life of the fiery prostitute Elvira, the search for a good restaurant during a dazed motorcycle trip with Cocosecco, or a trip to see Bologna play with the lawyer Della Lana become epic tales of tragicomic exploits.

Vasco and Viola are two sick children. He suffers from a form of immunodeficiency that forces him to live isolated from the world, even from his mother. While she fights against a tumor. Both have a great desire: to live. One day everything changes for Vasco: doctors are convinced that gene therapy could cure him. This is what happened. Now Vasco can go home to his family. Unfortunately for Viola there is no cure today, but the hope for the future is she can go back to her normal life as a child, thanks to scientific research.

La materia
This short film is a playful stream of crude human emotions. Fantastical hallucinatory moments of passion, cruelty, loneliness, disconnection and love unfold humorously in a simple and innocent form but with deep, sometimes dark meanings. Hypnotic music accompanies a dance of lines that reinvents itself with each new squiggle of the artist's pencil.
