Biography
Marino Darés is a Spanish filmmaker driven by the spirit of 90s adventure cinema, crepuscular westerns, Spielberg’s sense of wonder and classic sci-fi themes. At 21, he directed his debut feature, a western titled Red Clouds (2016). Two years later released his second feature, a Neo-noir thriller titled Blind Hawk (2018) A lifelong fan of Star Wars, Marino has directed acclaimed fan films such as Rebel Storm (2025) or Last Trial (2023), which received multiple awards such as Best Director in the Miami International Science Fiction Film Festival and Best Fan Film at the Gen Con Film Festival.

Blind Hawk

My grandfather Antonio was born on the street and was a vagabond until he got married. When he was just a child, he and his father walked thousands of kilometres from Valencia to the Pyrenees in order to survive. He was writing his memoirs for a while but had to abandon them because it affected him so much to remember his life. Now, 75 years later, we're going to walk the same route together, using cinema to try to bring out the memories that are stuck in his head and try to get him to finish writing his book.
