Biography
Shane Reid is an American feature and commercial editor living in Los Angeles. Along with partner and editor Kirk Baxter, Reid is a partner at the Santa Monica-based, award-winning post-house Exile Edit. Among the prestigious companies he has collaborated with are Apple, Adidas, BMW, Hennessy, Audi, and the Olympics. He quickly established himself as one of the most dependable short-form editors, working with directors like Damien Chazelle, Terrence Malick, Andrew Dominik, Jason Reitman, Craig Gillespie, Blake Lively, John Hillcoat, and Chloe Zhao. He won numerous awards and was nominated for an Emmy and a Cannes Lion in the commercial category. In addition, he has produced numerous music videos for artists including Paul McCartney, Florence + The Machine, Kamasi Washington, and Taylor Swift. In 2016, Reid served as the editor of Andrew Dominik's feature documentary One More Time With Feeling, which followed singer Nick Cave as he recorded his studio album "Skeleton Tree" while dealing with the untimely death of his son. Alwin Kuchler and Benoit Debie shot the 3D black-and-white picture, which debuted at the Venice International Picture Festival to great acclaim before being selected by Picture House for a theatrical release. For director Terrence Malick, Reid edited the movie A Hidden Life in 2018. For filmmaker Michael Spiccia, he recently edited the short film I'm on Fire, which had its world premieres at the 2022 Toronto and Clermont-Ferrand International Festivals. Reid was recently one of the editors on Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire and the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine.
