Time seems to stand still in a village in the Galician coast. Everybody there is paralyzed although we can still hear their voices: they talk about ghosts, about witches, about monsters. Three women arrive in the village to find Rubio, a sailor who has recently disappeared in the sea.

Coast of Almeria, Spain. When Neneta, who lives in a van, is abandoned by her partner, she decides to return with her baby to her hometown in Galicia.

A couple retreat to an Atlantic island to rebuild their relationship, strained by changes through the years. In this strange landscape a lighthouse seems to exert power, and a strange woman appears on the beach after almost drowning.

Maria is a shellfisherwoman and midwife in a small village in the Illa de Arousa in 1970s Galicia. After an unexpected event, she is forced to flee to Portugal.

Miguel travels to Pontevedra, his hometown, with the request of serching for some locations for a movie. His trip takes him back to the place where he grew up, meeting up with some old friends, but also leads him to the possibility of a new relationship: Alicia, a young nurse who will get to calm him down. Miguel will try to finish his work even though he mostly prefers to film the natives he meets, the movements and faces of his friends, the trains coming or the sea. A journey around the uprooting (the cinema) and love.

Four filmmakers working in the region of Galicia (in the northwest of Spain) follow and portray on the screen Galician artists working in disciplines of different nature. The result is four pieces around the creative process of these artists. Lois Patiño film their parents working on their paintings in their studio in Vigo, Jaione Camborda films dancer Janet Novás rehearsing for one of her pieces, Xisela Franco follows film director Margarita Ledo revisiting the location of her latest film Nation and Alfonso Zarauza reflects on the relationship between actress-director by putting together the work of Melania Cruz in two of their collaborations.

Arima is the story of four women and a girl whose existence is disrupted by the sudden arrival of two strangers. One of them is fleeing from the other, sneaking around town like an elusive being, a ghostly presence of uncertain existence. The other character —an injured man carrying a gun— will disrupt the women's way of life in different ways. The whole plot takes place on the fine line between reality and imagination, between dreams and nightmares, fear and desire, within a story shrouded in mystery.

In a 25 years-old home video, a kid insistently asks his dad if he can play with the camera. Once an adult, he returns to reflect on how all those years that passed have affected a place where time seems to have come to a halt. The cycle of life as seen by its protagonist and spectator.

The face of a child mesmerized by the glare of a flame in the dark. This project was developed as part of NIMBOS, an initiative inspired by the homonymous work of the well-known Galician poet Xosé María Díaz Castro.

On a grape harvest afternoon, children and adults tread the red grapes.

She wants a child but can't say it out loud, he doesn't ask. Can they stay together not talking to each other?

The screen is crossed by flying dogs while, on the ground, their eager owners perform a symbiotic dance. A series of images that go beyond everyday life and conjure up the fluctuating, underlying meanings of the mundane. This project was developed within the framework of Chanfaina Lab’s program.
