Boris Yashin

Fitil is a popular Soviet/Russian television satirical/comedy short film series which ran for about 500 episodes. Some of the episodes were aimed at children, and were called Фитилёк, Fitilyok, Little Fuse. Each issue contained from the few short segments: documentary, fictional and animated ones. Directed by various artists, including Leonid Gaidai who presented his famous trio of Nikulin, Vitsin and Morgunov into the cast. It was called in USSR as "the anecdotes from the Soviet government".

The film tells about the inhabitants of the Russian city of Tsaritsyn-Stalingrad-Volgograd. The film consists of three novellas, united by the theme of love and the scene - a city on the Volga.

Due to heavy snowfall that hit the city, aircraft flights were stopped for a day. Thousands of passengers crowded into the waiting room. Working together during this difficult shift, the previously conflicting bosses of the two shifts will evaluate each other, act in concert, and each will reconsider their professional and moral positions...

While waiting for her first child, young teacher Masha Pavlova suddenly decides that her husband does not understand her, and therefore does not respect her interests. Having ceased to understand each other, the couple divorced. Nikolai, who once loved her but is now divorced and clearly suffering from loneliness, reappears in her life.

A poetic story about the first love of the village girl Natasha, loyal to the memory of the deceased fiancé. In peacetime, the heroine's fiancé blew up on a land mine that remained on the collective farm field since the war, and her life turned into a nightmare. But sooner or later, dreams end and the world opens again. Pregnant Natasha goes to the institutions, seeking to be signed with the father of the unborn child who died tragically. At the end, after long ordeals, she comes to the conclusion that writing in the marriage book will not change anything in her life.

Summer 1919. After the sons of the kulaks deserted and went into the woods, in the remote Russian village of Potma there was only the old Bolshevik Matvei and a small Komsomol cell led by Sanya Yermakova. A fierce struggle begins between the Komsomol's and deserters.

The train waitress decides not to travel around the world anymore, but to raise her son from boarding school and be with her loved one, the local theater director in native Ferzinki.

The film is about the hot war summer of 1944. A group of several gun crews defends a tiny bridgehead on the right bank of the Dniester. The fates of the main characters: the front-line soldier-battalion commander Babin, the young lieutenant Motovilov, the nurse Rita Tamashova and the rank-and-file gunners, soldiers, among whom are brave people, faint-hearted and scoundrels, unnoticed heroes, are shown in a setting of several hours of peaceful life before another violent attack of the enemy, after which not everyone will survive...

The heroine of the film is an employee of an automobile factory, a person with a whole generous character. Always ready to help those who need her help, she doesn't worry about how her personal life is going, but she's quite happy.

Spring, 1945. Sasha, who lost her parents, goes to the village of Vyselki to find her aunt there. Her last hope for the existence of a loved one does not come true. But acquaintance with ordinary residents of the village, an unexpected love for the forester and a first feeling of joy from the necessary work return the girl the thirst for life.

An interesting life was lived by Ivan Krutov. He served in the Navy, was a fisherman on trawlers, and visited many countries. For the first time, having felt the approach of old age, I remembered my native village. And when he arrived, it turned out that the mother died three years ago, beloved Katerina got married and brings up his daughter. There's a guy sitting behind bars in prison. Through the bars, he keeps yelling: "Hey, somebody!" A girl appears at his shouting... She tells him that a bunch of people from the neighboring town are going to kill him for raping a woman. The guy tells the girl about himself: he's a vagrant because he's bored living in one place. He's very lonely. But the girl is essentially just as lonely. This brings the young people together and creates sympathy between them. The boy sends the girl away for a revolver, but when she leaves, the armed husband of the allegedly raped woman appears. The guy explains to him how it happened: the woman called him herself, but when he didn't give her money, she made a fuss. The husband believes the guy, but out of cowardice in front of his friends shoots and kills him.
