"No one loves anyone for more than two years" is an adaptation of Nelson Rodrigues' work about five couples that live in Brazil in the early 60's, who are seen by the society as conventional people, but whose intimate lives turn out to be morally questionable.

A group of friends, who resisted the military dictatorship, and their children will face the conflict between the daily life of today and the past when one of them is dying.

In 1883, in Rio de Janeiro, the Brazilian Navy rebelled against the country's government (an episode known as the Navy Revolt). Six months of intense fighting caused incalculable material and human losses. Inside one of the Navy ships, a deserter is captured. The commander punishes the French mercenary with the most unlikely of punishments: the torture of silence.
