An accidental meeting in an elevator at a department store leads two older women to their limits and forces them to improvise by the time the elevator gets stuck.

Nico (33), German-Persian, emancipated and happy, is the most popular geriatric nurse for her patients. With her best friend Rosa (37), she enjoys the summer in Berlin. A xenophobic attack tears the self-confident NICO from its self-determined everyday life. Waking up in the hospital, she realizes that she doesn't seem to be a part of it after all.

UKI’s storyline unfolds as we follow a defunct replicant REIKO dumped on Etrashville - a vast dump for tech - who tries to pull themselves back together with the help of Etrashville's transgenic inhabitants. Parallel to REIKO’s trajectory is that of an infected city where we are made aware of the reckless schemes of the biotech enterprise, GENOM Co.

Anette and Carla’s rebellious nature and sense of humor have kept the two self-confident women connected for years. The current societal shift to the right and the fact that they as women - and now older women - are pushed to the edge of society, really gets to them. Unflinchingly, they use their alleged state to do what many wouldn’t have the guts to do…

Anna is still sad about her breakup, and seeing her ex-girlfriend with a new partner certainly doesn’t help. There’s nothing to be done -- life is not a bed of roses. She must go on. Even if she’s burdened not only by the shopping bags, but also by the heavy memories that will be harder to deal with than the groceries.
