While handing out food at a charity organization, Laura, Evîn and Julia unexpectedly cross paths. Laura, a released prisoner, defends Evîn, a Kurdish woman, when she is racially insulted by a man waiting in line. Eventually the situation gets out of hand.

Elaha, 22, believes she must restore her supposed innocence before she weds. A surgeon could reconstruct her hymen but she cannot afford such an operation. She asks herself: why does she have to be a virgin anyway, and for whom?

Thirteen-year-old Daniel lives with his older brother and terminally ill father in a village plagued by rural exodus. There, the young people live their lives between rare bus stops, xenophobia, unemployment, illegal dog fights and chemical intoxicants, among other things. Daniel stands between childhood and adolescence, and in the face of the indifference and stagnation of his surroundings, he becomes the victim of inhuman conditions that force him into a painful loneliness.

Held captive in his mother's house with a shackle on his leg, 27-year-old Benjamin serves a ten-month custodial sentence. The small house in the outskirts of Vienna is cramped. Benjamin makes music, lifts weights and flies his helicopter. His mother works, folds laundry and makes phone calls. Then in the evening they eat together. The distance that has built up between them over the years gradually gets smaller again. A totally different kind of family reunion.
