Portrait of a Mexico City neighborhood where pages and pages are printed, and little by little, words appear. Máquinas de Palabras is a performance created in March 2023 in Mexico City, and is the result of a collaboration between Labo K (Rennes-based film laboratory) and LEC (Laboratorio de Cine Experimental) in Mexico City. A portrait of a Mexico City neighborhood where pages and pages are printed. And little by little, words appear... "From the deliberate use of found images to films that make uncompromising use of raw material, the camera and the plants will take our eyes... Pupils will certainly be illuminated by the projector... How can moving images stay in our heads?"

A crossing in space, material deforms and transforms. The film is destroyed, burnt, pierced to reveal new configurations, a new sensitive space.

The film seeks to reveal a porous relationship between the world of the living and the world of the dead.

Eïdi is a teenager full of life, independent and autonomous. Sometimes, she feels different from others, out of the ordinary... So she takes refuge elsewhere, in other places that perhaps exist only in her thoughts.

One morning where nothing starts. I discover the rubble of a recent past : an old foundry completely ripped open on the edge of a small village in Brittany. Over the course of a passage, a crossing, I draw the contours of this space. This is a film about oblivion, about modern ruins, a political film in which the foundry comes to symbolize the upheavals of the working world, the society that stirs us, and the unceasing acceleration of progress...

The time of a gesture, a body confronts the memory of a place that may never have existed. Space flickers and memory is punctured.

We are somewhere in the north of Spain. After crossing a town, in the rain, at the end of a tunnel, the valley of Solana opens up. The grain and the flickering of the film add a dreamlike quality to the journey that begins in the deserted mountains. For thirty years now, the villages have been emptied of their inhabitants, who were snatched by the towns, as a shepherd tells Emmanuel Piton.

A man seems to be following a quest that hasn't quite found its purpose. Fragments emerge from his memory as if to escape the call of the shadows.
